Local Ministries Supported by St. Paul's

  • THRIVE is devoted to providing the truth about God’s plan for each woman’s life, equipping them in parenting, meeting physical needs, and walking them through the painful journey of healing and forgiveness for past abortions when that is the case. They give women the tools, information, and liberty to make the decision for adoption and the truth about abstinence and the freedom it can bring to their lives.
  • Bethany Christian Services is a full-service Christian adoption agency. They work with birth mothers who are in a crisis pregnancy situation. They provide ho using if needed during their pregnancy. The mothers receive counseling if they plan to place their child for adoption. Bethany helps teach the birth mothers parenting skills if they decide to parent the child and provide tutoring and/or occupational skills so parents may be self-supporting.
  • The Salvation Army is one of the oldest missions in the United States. They provide help for families who have been affected by disasters of all kinds. In addition to spiritual guidance, they help people get back on their feet, back in society, and self-supporting. The Tree of Lights is their main money-raising project of the year.
  • The Salvation Army – Adult Rehabilitation Center affords men the opportunity to regain their self-respect and acquire the life skills needed to take their rightful place in life. Their "no-cost"  program is designed for the mental, physical and spiritual rehabilitation of the person. The majority of men who come to the center are having problems (i.e., social, medical, spiritual, personal, and employment) and many have an addiction to drugs and/or alcohol.
  • World Impact is in St. Louis to evangelize and disciple the unchurched urban poor for Christ through a combination of planting indigenous churches and supporting those churches through holistic ministries that demonstrate the Gospel. Evangelism is provided through Bible Clubs, Bible studies, worship services, tutoring, job training, and recreation. Kelly Schjenken, a member of St. Paul’s, is the director of World Impact in St. Louis.
  • Jubilee Community Church is an inner-city church in St. Louis that is reaching out to the neighborhood around the church with the love of Christ.
  • Emmaus Homes are residential facilities for mentally and physically handicapped adults. They provide the residents with a home-type environment. They are taught to do chores and simple tasks. The residents also make crafts and other items, which are sold to help support the home.
  • First Light Ministries is a ministry that helps people struggling with homosexuality find hope in Christ. This ministry is a new ministry that is operated in Webster Groves.
  • The New Life Evangelistic Center is an inner-city mission. They provide food, shelter, clothing, the Word of God, and the Love of Christ to the homeless and low- income families of St Louis. They also have a TV station (Channel 24) which broadcasts "good" TV shows. They are expanding their TV and radio ministries in the state of Missouri and Arkansas.
