Getting Ready for Lent

Dear St. Paul's Congregation,

This coming Sunday, February 14, Valentine's Day, will lead us into the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday, February 17. It is appropriate for us to be celebrating a day of love as we launch into a season when we meditate on the love of our Savior.

  • Our sermon, "Cross Talk," will deal with the Transfiguration of Christ.
  • Mike Rohman will present a challenge from our Missions Team in both services. During Lent, we hope to collect $5000 for Haiti Crisis Relief, and also 11,000 pounds of Christian books for Bible Schools and Missionaries around the world. You will hear more about this on Sunday.

Of course, the sausage dinner will provide a moment of feasting before Lent begins. We hope you will bring your friends and encourage good fellowship. Hopefully, the snow will not hamper our festivities.

Our beloved Herb Gertz passed away on Thursday, February 11. Visitation will be on Monday, February 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Kriegshauser West. The funeral will be on Tuesday, February 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Kriegshauser Funeral Home chapel.
