Summer Series from Luke 10-13 begins this Sunday
Dear St. Paul's Congregation,
Our lectionary leads us into the Gospel of Luke this Summer. This Sunday, July 11, Pastor Mark's sermon is based on the Parable of the Good Samartian, and is called, Loving Your Neighbor (Luke 10:25-37). Then, on July 18, our theme will be Being With Jesus (Luke 10:38-42).
The Men's Chorus will sing To God be the Glory this Sunday. We will also commission Stephen Ministry Leaders in both services. The Believer's Class (multipurpose room) is beginning a new summer series called Visionary Parenting during the time between services. This is a video series taught by Rob Rienow. This week's theme is God's Grand Vision for the Home.
We had a time of passionate prayer on Wednesday night at the church. Around 25 of us gathered and prayed for two hours about the concerns of the church, and individuals present. We ranged from praying for our nation to praying for the health concerns of our members. Some special needs for your prayers:
- Cindy Kelly is undergoing rehabilitation at St. John's Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital. She could use your prayers for strength on her left side.
- Pastor Stemler is in pain after his pacemaker installation.
- Baby Ruth Yarbrough is doing as well as can be expected after her heart transplant on Monday. Please pray for adjustment to the anti-rejection medication.
- Maria Rolland and Shirley Birkenmeier continue to recover from surgery.
I look forward to gathering together for Summer Worship with you this coming Sunday! See you at church!
Pastor Mark Friz
