Cindy Kelly Update; Worship on 7/25; King's Kids Begins
Dear St. Paul's Congregation,
"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me" (Psalm 23). Today, I do not have good news about our dear sister in Christ, Cindy Kelly. The doctors are coming to the end of their remedies for her brain cancer, and are now utilizing very strong chemotherapy and infusing it directly into her spinal fluid. So far, Cindy has not responded to this therapy. The continued prayers of the people of God are needed at this point, not only for Cindy, but also for the entire family. Don't forget, you can access more detailed information about Cindy on Missy's website at

Very appropriately, our lectionary passage this Sunday leads us to Luke 11:1-13, and Jesus' teaching on prayer. The sermon title is Persistent Prayer. There is a special woodwind trio in the first service, and of course the worship team leads in the second service. Juanita Harned will share a testimony in both services concerning God's work in her life. We are so fortunate at St. Paul's to have so many saints who have grown in trust through trials.
Our King's Kids Staff will be at Camp Wartburg this Sunday, participating in their own worship service. I believe that would be about 20 or so people from our church on camp staff this year. All together, there are about 80 campers registered, and believe it or not, there are more boys than girls! Please, keep the camp in your prayers. The theme of camp is Fully Devoted, and the camp will focus on discipleship (prayer, fellowship, teaching, obedience, evangelism, mission, service). Please pray for favorable weather, unity among the staff and campers, and many decisions for Jesus Christ. Please pray for directors Carrie Fisher and Carolyn Miller.
We are in the dog days of Summer, but also the days of Summer fruitfulness. We have lots of tomatoes at the parsonage, and we are always happy to share freely with the St. Paul's family.
Grace to all!
Pastor Mark Friz
