3rd Wed. in Lent Features Guest Preacher Bob Vass

Dear St. Paul's Congregation,

Boston. Thank you so much for allowing me a week of vacation to see my grandchildren in Boston. We not only had a "triple" birthday celebration (Sabbath, 3/21, Gabriel, 3/10, Mark, 3/9), but also had time to visit a train museum, take a train excursion on the Boston "T," and worship with Jonathan and Cassi at the Harbor Church in Beverly, MA. Our leadership is wise to provide "sabbaths" for the pastors and staff at the church, and we are thankful!

Lenten Disciplines. How are you doing with your Lenten Disciplines? Lent is a time to grow in discipleship, and in spiritual maturity. Part of spiritual maturity is beginning to appreciate the differences we have with one another. This year, we are offering The Three Colors of Your Spirituality test as an opportunity to come to understand your own spirituality, and appreciate how others might connect with God in a different way.

My Son, a Mystic. While in Boston, my son Jonathan took the Spiritual Styles test. He scored the highest score possible in the category of "mystical." He also scored high in "scripture driven, ascetic and enthusiastic." His lowest score was sharing. John the Baptist is a biblical "mystic." Many of the prophets also were mystical. I began to understand my son's spiritual style about 5 years ago. When I finally understood my son's spiritual style, I was able to be much more affirming of his calling and ministry.

Lenten Sermon #3. I hope to see many of you here tomorrow night, when one of our new members, Bob Vass, will be bringing the message. His message from Isaiah 55:6-13 is called "Lost and Found." Gwen Amiri will be sharing the Special Music during the offering, based on the tune, Jesus Loves Me.
