A day on high ropes and a hike to a lake
Friday we drove about 45 minutes from the camp farther up a mountain to a high ropes, literally in the trees. There were several courses to choose from, at various skill level. They include ropes, obstacles, and some amazing zip lines.
See the pictures below.
Here's what our group had to say:
Amelia: The high ropes course was sooo much fun! Though there were some problems...for one thing when I was swinging from one platform to another, I scraped my shin and got a pretty intense scrape. Another thing, my glasses fell and luckily someone was near to find them, but unfortunately I had to finish the rest of the course without my glasses. One other thing that happened was that during one of the exercises, we had to jump from a platform to a net and climb up to another platform. I almost reached the top but then I got tired and fell and had to be rescued. The rest of the day was very beautiful and fun.
Kellie: At the high ropes course I had lots of fun.. I went from the orange level up to the black level. Black is the second hardest level and it really tested my strength. I am only sore at the inside joint on my elbow. It was so much better than other courses I have been on. The rest of the day was relaxing and beautiful. The hike was really good. Especially when we got to the lake. The water was blue and clear. Very relaxing. The day was tiring, but an awesome experience.
Nick: I brought shame to my family! I attempted the hardest course and could not complete it, because I didn't have enough time. It was physically exhausting. But it was a lot of fun and challenging. The lake was beautiful.
Daniel: I have witnessed a truly amazing feat. To get to where we were going, we had to drive on the most winding road I have ever been on, full of inclined turns. Now imagine a tour bus successfully completing these turns without any problem. Truly amazing.
Anna: The beginning of the high ropes course was really fun. At the end, I felt like I could totally do the hardest course. However, at the beginning of the challenging course, I needed assistance from other campers. On the hike, I got to bond with a couple French campers.
Laura: The high ropes course was fun, but physically draining. I dinged my knee badly, however still had fun. We drove to a lake, walked around it, and enjoyed the view. The lake looked magical and the walk was very pleasant. I slept like a rock that night.
Kevin: Hier cetait fun! I experienced what was quite possibly the coolest car ride of my life from camp to the ropes course, up the mountain. On the ropes course a few of us felt daring and we completed the "super black" course, the second hardest one. The zip lines were awesome! We went on a hike in the afternoon around a beautiful lake. Everyone had a great time. Unfortunately, my shoulders are now extremely sore. But it was worth it.
Megan: The high ropes course was really fun! It was very challenging and had tasks that took extra effort. I went on a course called Black, but there were many other courses to choose from. After the high ropes we went on a hike. The lake that we hiked around was so beautiful. The water was so blue that it didn't even look real. The hike was very enjoyable and the weather was perfect. After the hike, we got to put our feet in the water and it was freezing!
Melissa: The high ropes course was amazing! It was challenging to stay balanced so high up, but it was worth it cuz you felt really accomplished when you finished, and now we're really sore. The hike wasn't very hard and it was beautiful. We went across a cool bridge that swayed scarily over over shark infested waters! (just kidding, but the bridge did sway alot) Anyway it was lots of fun!
