Position Summary

St. Paul’s Evangelical Free Church has a rich history of ministering the gospel in St. Louis and to the world for over 175 years.  Our congregation is one who loves and honors its pastors and cares deeply for one another.  God has called us to strengthen our ministries that serve families at St. Paul’s and in the community with a special emphasis on raising up the next generation of faithful believers.  This newly created position presents a unique opportunity for an individual to build, lead, and nurture a next generation ministry at St. Paul’s.  You will have leadership responsibility for all ministries to those from birth through 18 years of age.  You will be gifted at building Christ centered relationships and engaging with others to build people up through these ministries. 

St. Paul’s seeks an individual who will:

  • Connect with youth and be skilled at “meeting them where they are”
  • Shepherd and equip parents for the task of Godly parenting
  • Recruit, train, and empower lay leaders and volunteers for effective ministry
  • Build new ministries within an established congregation
  • Serve as a beacon to the diverse range of families in our congregation and surrounding community

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and serving in vocational youth ministry. They will have or be seeking Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) ministerial accreditation. The candidate shall be directly accountable to the Senior Pastor. Salary will be commensurate with experience.


General Pastoral Responsibilities

    • Serve as a full-time member of a gifted, humble, and supportive Pastoral Team
    • Lead and provide oversight and accountability of all children and family ministries along with volunteer ministry leaders
    • Create family friendly events
    • Recruit, train, and motivate ministry teams and volunteers
    • Shepherd and equip parents for the task of Godly parenting
    • Lead the two-year confirmation program on Sunday mornings
    • Collaborate in the planning and implementation of the preaching ministry and worship services
    • Partner in existing networks with other EFCA congregations
